You still need to be careful of products that don’t deliver, but blogging for profit may just be one of the best opportunities around today.
This is one of those things that just doesn’t fit everyone, but if it fits you –meaning you have the desire, time and talent to do it, you can make a lot of money blogging.
The key to doing this is that you must have some knowledge or interest in something you can write a blog about. A blog can be about pets, food & cooking, computers, cars, quilting, health and fitness, politics, finance –really anything you want to write about. There are people searching the web every minute of every day looking for information. The other requirement is that you must possess reasonable basic writing skills.
The really good news is that there are some great “how to” programs on the market that will walk you through the process step-by-step and we haven’t yet seen any scams in this area.
There are many free blog sites such as blogger.com, but if you want to create a blog that gives you the flexibility to set up income producing ads, and generate money for affiliate programs, I really recommend Word Press. Below is a resource that can show you how to set up a Word Press Blog in minutes.
We don’t have the time or space here to write a complete article on blogging, but I think everyone knows what a blog is. You make money from your blog in several ways:
- You can use the Google Adsense program to put ads on your blog whereby you earn money when someone clicks on them
- You can get both advertising and affiliate banners from a number of sites such as Amazon, eBay, Commission Junction and Kolimbo that will pay you handsomely when someone clicks on the banners and/or if they purchase something.
- You can sell your own products via your blog.
- If you blog becomes really popular > 50,000 visits a month, advertising agencies will pay you money to advertise on your site.
Matt Drudge was one of the first political bloggers. His site is full of links and free content. He is reported to earn over $100,000 a month from advertising on his site. You don’t have to be that big to make money blogging. I have one blog on Underwater Digital Cameras that makes about $400 a month with less than 1000 visitors a month. That’s not a lot of money, but it only took me about 3 to 4 hours work to create and set up the blog and I haven’t touched it in months. And I have several other blogs like that one.
Our Top Two Recommended Blogging Programs
We examined seven different blogging-for-money programs. None of them were scams, but several of them were poorly written, too technical, incomplete or there was no value for the money. So I decided to write my own book, How to Make Money Blogging From Home. Its by me, Skip McGrath, and my webmaster, Marsha Perry, who is one of the leading WordPress experts in the country.
Of all the programs I examined, Blogging To The Bank is the only one I can also recommend besides my own. It one of the best known and best-selling blogging programs of all time since blogging started. And in fact, I first learned about blogging for cash from one of his early editions. Thousands of people have learned how to make money blogging with this training. ![]()
