That was far more than she could get from a pawn shop, coin dealer or those kiosks at the shopping mall.  The total weight was 23 grams. On that particular day, gold was selling for $1740 an ounce which is $55.94 per gram.  So I paid her 27.97 or a total of $643.40.  She was thrilled.

She had taken the gold to a pawn shop first and they offered her $310.  But I paid her over $600 and I still made money.  How much?  Well I sold that gold to my refiner for $53.70 per gram –or $1235.15.  A profit of $591.75 for less than one hours work!
